Hi, I'm Dakota, a concept-led copywriter with a love of eloquent sentences, impeccable grammar and a firm belief that puns are wildly underrated.
I thrive on new creative and strategic challenges.
So, let's tackle yours next.
After building my copywriting career in Sydney, I'm now based in London and looking for my next creative challenge.
Over the years, I've helped charities, health-tech brands and purpose-led organisations turn complex issues into campaigns, content and communications that inspire action.
My work spans campaign concepts, brand messaging, customer journey mapping and CRM, content and social strategy, digital campaigns and long-form storytelling, giving me the opportunity to tackle everything from brand platforms to fundraising appeals.
Before becoming a copywriter, I spent several years in account management, working my way up to Senior Account Manager. Along the way, I worked with brands such as Audi, Hyundai, Supercars, PLAN International and The Royal Flying Doctor Service. That experience taught me how to think strategically, manage stakeholders and juggle competing priorities. It's also probably why I'll always have a soft spot for a well-organised spreadsheet.
After realising that creativity was what I enjoyed most about the job, I completed AWARD School (a creative course powered by the Advertising Council of Australia) while working full-time before making the leap into copywriting.
Nearly six years later, I still feel incredibly lucky that I get to do this for a living.
Outside of work, you'll usually find me attempting a new recipe, watching almost any sport that's on, playing tennis, participating in a pub quiz, studying menus long before I've booked the table, or curled up with a book.
