KHA Red Socks Run

Brief:
Kidney Health Australia (KHA) runs a community fundraising event each year called the Red Socks Appeal. This event asks participants to buy their signature red socks and walk/run a certain distance in them.

While this event had been successful in the past, COVID restrictions as well as the recent abundance of similar events in the space meant that KHA had to adapt their event to be even more accessible and inspiring.

Insight:
66 Australians die each day with chronic kidney disease (CKD), which is a higher mortality rate than breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Presently there is no cure for CKD and advancements in research and clinical support are slow.

Campaign:
Red Socks Run for Kidney health. Choose to run, walk or roll 60km in the month of October to raise vital funds to improve research and support services, and transform treatments for kidney disease.

Results:
- 1,294 runners
- $436,000+ raised
- 45% revenue increase on 2021
